Default External oil leak on 89 Tempo.

89 Tempo 2.3L. Oil leak when parked on a side street but not on level ground like a parking lot. Leaks on the front of the engine (passenger side). When parked overnite, leaks about 4 oz. I think the front main bearing seal is the cause. Is there any good stop leak product out there that can rejuvenatethe seal? I heard about a trick using brake fluid. If this will work, could someone telll me how much to use?

Default RE: External oil leak on 89 Tempo.

that sounds like the problem i had with my bronco..the rear main seal must have had a crack in it from sitting for a few years...i bought some stuff from a local parts store but i cant remember the name..i think it was from lucas oils but im not quite sure..it was kinda pricey(like 16 bucks)but it did the trick so no more oil leakage!
