Ford Thunderbird Starting in the 1950s, this was a classic American sports cars, from the compact original of the 1950s, to the muscular hard top coupes of the 1980s and 1990s to the retro look of the 2003 model year, this car is, and always will be, an American classic.

Default 66 'Bird electrical trouble

I am sure there are die hard 'bird fans here, so here goes. I am sorting a 66 for a customer and I have resolved all the issues but 2, and they have me stumped. All original 390 4v car, stock single point ect. I am loosing coil+ when cranking, key on + is working, but I lose the signal when I hit the start side of the switch. Sound like ignition switch, or is there something else in the circuit I am unaware of?
Second problem, there infamous turn signals, I have all the bulbs working, and the brakes lights repaired, and have installed the modern sequencer for the car, as well as the turn signal relay on the column. All thats really left in the system I can find in the reference material I have is the switch (lever switch) in the top of the column, but really did not want to have to remove the wheel.
I have been building old Ford for years, this happens to be the first early bird I have worked on, I am certain these problems are not unusual, however being a fairlane/torino guy, these problems are very new to me. Would love to hear a little wisdom on the subject if someone's willing to share. Thanks. Mike
