Default 93 T-bird Overdrive..Plz Help

Hi everyone, Got a quick question for ya. I have a 93 T-Bird and am having a problem in overdrive. When driving in overdrive the engine switches fine until I hit 45 mph. Then it doesn't want to switch and acts like I'm in neutral reving the engine. But when I have her in drive she is fine and there isn't any problems. I can go past 45 mph like nothing is wrong. You guys ahve any idea what this may be??? I do appreciate all your help...Thanks, Delona

It is having a problem and may need a simple service like a fluid and filter change or could be a more complex problem like some damage in the overdrive system. You may damage the transmission further by driving it that way, no matter if it just needs a filter change or something more complex. Just a filter and fluid change only takes a few minutes, whereas the overhaul of an OD (which cannot be serviced by most regular garages) can be much more costly (unless you take the trans. in and out of the car yourself to take it to the trans. shop).
