Default Thunderbird Misfire

Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me out with this. I have a 94 t-bird with the 4.6 liter v-8. The other day it started missing really bad and the CEL came on . I stopped and had the code pulled and it was a p0302 (misfire on cyl 2) I decide i would go ahead and put plugs and wires on it since I figure that would fix it. Well it didn't, swapped the coils to see if the miss would move to a differeent cyl and it didn't. So i figured I had a bad injector so I got one put it in and still have a misfire on cyl 2. Did some more checking last night and if I plug the old injector into the wiring for cyl 2 I get nothing, but if I plug into the wires for one of the other cyls I get a pulsing for the injector. So I'm pretty sure I'm not getting any signal to the wiring for cyl 2. So here is where I need some help. I'm more or less an older car/ truck guy but really do like this car, but i"m not sure where to go to from here. What controls the signal to the injector? How can I test to see if it is getting a signal or not other then what I have done? Does the crank or cam sensors have anything to do with the firing of the injectors? If one of those is bad wouldn't it miss on more then just one cyl? Oh one other thing I did was to put a volt meter on the wiring and the reading I got on both cly 1 and 2 were really close to the same if not exactly don't remember what the reading was since it was last night...Can someone please give me some help!!!

Thanks
John
