Default Transmission issue?

I have a 96 4.6V8 Thunderbird. When Im driving and hit around 30-40 Mph the car makes like a stutter and you can feel it hesitate, but if I let my foot off the gas and put it back on even for a split second it solves the issue. I've checked the transmission fluid and it's where it should be. The fluid is still clear so it shouldn't be the filter. Any ideas as to what it could be?

Thumbs up

Welcome to the site..

How many miles since the last trans service?

They had an issue with torque converter shudder. Regular service intervals are important. Generally, if not a high mileage unit, and slight shudder, a fresh lube change corrects the concern.

Also, sometimes ignition related misfire can mask as converter, or vise versa.
What's the mileage on the clock?

I'm not sure when the last transmission service was. I bought it from a friend of the family a couple months ago. As for the miles the odometer isn't working and it's stuck at 200,000 at the time he estimated that there was prob somewhere around 230,000 miles on the car and I haven't driven it much. I've prob put 1000 miles on the car since I've had it
