I have a 302 in a rod. It came from an 89 Mustang. I have the vin and title from that donor car, but I need the Engine number. I can find the Block casting number above the starter, but I cannot find the Engine number. I am begging to suspect it got milled off in the process of raising the compression ratio many years ago and/or porting the heads and adding roller rockers.

So, I need to trace the engine number through ford somehow. If the FBI can find bombers from the numbers on a diff ringwheel, I am sure I must be able to find my engine number from the unique VIN.

Any idea how I would get access to Fords database?
