Hello, I'm a new member, but this looks to be a site that has a lot of savvy Ford guys hanging out. My specific issue is a 2004 Expedition XLT 4.6 with ~90k on it. Last week it started idling erratically. The codes I captured in order were P2195, P2197, P0171 and P0174. Initially I thought it might be O2 sensor related, but all four failing simultaneously seems unlikely. I checked around the brake booster, PVC, and other vacuum sources, and found the hose from rear of manifold to a green fitting on a module directly above the brake booster was literally crumbling in place. It didn't appear to be leaking, but the outside was nasty. SES light remains on after changing the hose and resetting the ECU.

Any observation or suggestions?

Your 2 codes are for the front O2 sensors.

P2195 - O2 Sensor Signal Stuck Lean (Bank 1
Sensor 1)

P2197 - O2 Sensor Signal Stuck Lean (Bank 2
Sensor 1)

 

Fixed. I found that the elbow behind the manifold connecting a tube to another elbow, was eaten away from the inside out and had failed. New elbows and air filter and it idles like it should.

Yup, same symptoms. A bunch of error codes and searched online and it's the PCV vacuum jose. In my case, it was just the rubber elbow that wore down.

I went to a bunch of places.

Ford dealer wanted $75 for the plastic hose and elbow. They said they did not sell just the elbow, which is rediculous since you can slip off the elbows very easily.

Pep Boys did not have an elbow the right size.

Autozone first sold me the rubber hose with bends similar and I was going to use this, but when I found out that the elbows just slipped off, they found the elbow for me. It was slightly different, but worked just fine (so far).

I thought I would include some crappy cell phone pix to help others locate it. Note that it's not the small metal plug that is near where I highlighted.. I had to remove that hose to get to the other one. Also, the smaller hose will have about a cup of radiator fluid come out.

You can find the elbows at the ford dealer part #6A614A one connects to the pcv valve and the other right in the middle on the top of engine and the firewall
