Firing Order 2.8L V6
I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have a Gazelle kit car that has a 1978 Mustang II chasis and 1978 2.8L engine. The firing order right now is:
1-4-3-6-5-2
The carb was popping pretty bad so I looked up the firing order for that engine and they say it is:
1-4-2-5-3-6
When I set the firing order to that, the engine ran even worse. Finally I set the firing order back to the original order and just set the timing by ear and the engine is running alot better now with no popping out the carb.
My question is this. How could the engine be running great with the 1-4-3-6-5-2 firing order? This is how it was set when I got it but everything I read tells me it's supposed to be 1-4-2-5-3-6. That firing order is for Chevy V6's. LOL. I'm stumped.
