OBD ll codes P2104,P2112,P2104,P2111 & P2112 sequence. Need help on this one!
I got this sequence on my 2005 Expedition 5.4(40K/MI)
The truck sat outside all day in zero temp. Started to drive home &5 miles down the road it dies on me, the check eng. & "wrench" light up, re-started & continued driving and it "bogged" out, like the old carburetor days. I floored it with no response, the tach indicated 2K rpms. I coasted to the side of the road, put it in park,it re-started right away and was able to make it home. My "safety confidence" is real LOW for my family driving this. Please help with any ideas..... heres the codes....
P2104 TAC system forced idle, P2112, stuck open, P2104 forced idle, P2111 stuck open, P2112 stuck closed. This happened for the very first time about a month ago. I cleared the codes and put on around 400 miles with no problem. It happened again today. Both times it has been near 0 deg.F temps when this happened. A "visual" on the wires look ok. I bought it newand am the original owner with no one messing with anything under the hood.Any TSB's on this or has any mechanics seen this happen?Water in the gas turning to ice? WTF??? Need help fast! Thanks very much....

This one sounds easy for both: This car has set just about every Throttle body code they can set. The Freestyle has a revised (non-heated) Throttle body replacement kit that cures the problem. You could try cleaning it, but it won't help. And since there are at least 3 different TP sensors for these, then it's really just best to replace it and be done with it. EEC if only allowing forced idle or very low speeds so that the car doesn't turn into a Toyota. One other thing: with this system, the air cleaner needs a CLEAN, UNOILED, PAPER (with no oil, K&N fan) air filter. The air filter is critical due to the nature of this throttle body. They usually don't take well to cleaning.

I did go ahead and replace the throttle body on my 05 Freestyle. The issue seems to have been cleared up. I do notice that the car seems to be less economical with fuel now (after the repair). I will monitor it over the next few months and get a better idea. Is there any adjustment that could be made (that maybe wasn't done at the time of repair)? Just wondering.

No, the throttle bodies and fuel injection are pretty much self-regulating. I can't imagine why the car would not be getting the same fuel milage. Have you checked for trouble codes and maintanance?
