1972 ltd
Hello fellow Ford fans. I've been offered a 1972 LTD that has been abandoned for years, and I was wondering how much would it cost to restore it? Also, what are some things that I can do to modify it? Pics are available upon request.

Welcome to the site..
Well,,, abandoned in what kind of shape?
Runs, drives? Body and interior is ? condition. Can you do the needed tasks yourself, or, are you paying for all or some of the needed work? I like all the old Ford iron. But, generally a large vintage family car wont command a high value if resale is part of the plan. Not to say its not worth some attention, more so if you want to save it. Solid platforms! Love to see other members cars. I have a 72 Dart, 77 Dodge 1 ton van and a few others. 60-70's,, got my interest

When you post/reply, scroll down to 'Additional Options', there, Manage Attachments will open a window if the images are on your computer. Only issue there is, there's image size limits. If you want to just email them I'll post them full size...

I have a 72 LTD Brougham that I bought new in January 1972. I drove it regularly until about 1989. I put it on blocks until 2011 and began a restoration then. I ave done none of the work myself. Interior has not yet been started. Engine (400 cu in) has had minimal done to it - changed oil and filter, new plugs and wires, new electronic distributor, flushed gas tank. Started right up on first try. Exterior has been done - dents, paint, vinyl top, re-chrome front bumper. Again, I have done none of the work. I am north of $20k now with interior left. I just got the car back from the mechanical shop last week. Starts and drives OK. At most it might ultimately be worth $10K. But, I bought it new and almost no one else has driven it. 90K miles. My son wS 2 months old when I bought. He got to drive it a few days ago.

Welcome to the site..
Haven't had to search for repair panels/pans for an LTD. Dearborn Classics may be a good source. How bad is the rust areas? Convertible is probably the defining cause though. ;-)
