Default Advice needed - Racing car

Hi

We are currently in the process of transforming an old ford sierra sapphire family car into a racing car.
We have just bought all brand new suspension, calipers, discs, alloys, etc for 17" wheels. We've just gone to fit it all and found our tyres don't fit, because our tyres are hitting the suspension plate that holds the coilovers.

Our current tyre size is: 225 45 R17

As we can't take/cut off the suspension plate, is there anything else we can do to adjust the wheel area/components to make the tyres fit by adjusting something else?

We have been advised to reduce the tyre depth to 35's to take it away from the plate, will this work?

Please advise asap: johnbird118@hotmail.co.uk
Thank you
John

Hello
I can't see the side wall height making that big of a difference.
Did you fix your problem...
