Help with tranny codes overdrive light blinking
Recently had codes read on my 1999 E-150 and found P1000,P1288,P1711,P0713.mechanic replaced internal wire harness with diode on it, this was a temp sensor. 50 miles later I had what seemed like a lock-up of some type then blinking OD light again.......I'm trying to avoid money pit.Anyone have specific knowledge as to what else up the line it could be ? Bad computer ? Blinking now comes and goes.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I believe the 1288 code involves the cylinder head temp sensor also ck the TPS.
The fact that it comes and goes indicates it is an intermittent problem which could be caused by a loose or poor elec connection.
P1000 indicates a drive cycle has not been completed. Was the battery disconnected shortly before the codes were read?
Anytime a trans code is coming up , I always start with checking the plug and pin connections on the trans. They are noted for corroding inside and this can usually be spotted by the green corrosion on the pins. A good cleaning with a good penetrating oil usually cleans them off enough to eliminate the connection problem.
The other two codes involve the trans. Anytime we get a load of trans codes it usually indicated a ground connection is the culprit.
