Need info on C3 cruise o matic trans

The pan needs to be removed , then you can get access to a retaining clip or nut on the inner end of the shaft. Then that shaft can be removed and the seal pried out . Installation is simple , just coat the outer surface with some RTV and install . You can use a socket to drive the seal in.Then just reassemble the shaft and inner link and tighten the nut. I believe there are flats on the shaft that line up with the arm inside, no big deal. While you have the pan down might be a good time to replace the filter, seal and pan gasket. They all come with a filter kit. No adhesive or sealer is used to hold gasket to pan.

Hanky,
Thanks for the info. I will be taking the motor out next week, will follow what you said then. Hard to get off the floor theses days if you know what I mean. Maybe you can answer 1 more ?. I have 2-C3 trans but I am told that they are a dying breed. Is there another trans that can replace the C3 that will bolt right in? I picked up a extra 390 & C3 on ebay. Had the motor redone.
