T2004 - That is exactly the problem I had.  It would start up after driving for about 20 minutes.  Of course it wouldn't happen when it was at the dealers either.  The TSB's are 17892 and 041613.  There is a link at the topof the page for Ford TSB's.  It will take you to all of the bulletins.  You will have to subscribe to download the bulletin but it was money well spent.  Good luck.

Just replaced the left hub on my 2004 Limited for the "Whiny Hub Syndrom".  I listened to it for about 3 months while watching EBAY for one.  Ford list price for the hub is $183 and Dealer cost is $110.  I bought a new one on EBAY for $57 including shipping.  Took me about 45 minutes in the driveway.

My issue has been resolved.  It was not a noise when moving, but at idle.  The dealer replaces the fuel pump and it's fine.

Dealer finally heard the noise.  It was the fuel pump in my case.  It was replaced under warranty.  No more sounds.
