My 2000 F-250 7.3 diesel power doors locks won't fully work. They move less the more you try them. I have taken off the door panels and lubed them, that didn't seem to help. Any help would be appreciated.

TRY DISCONNECTING THE CABLE COMMING FROM THE LOCK ACTUATOR, THEN USING A VOLTAGE METER MEASURE THE CURRENT ON EITHER WIRE LEAD ON THE CABLE. IF IT IS THE SAME AS MOST FORDS, YOU WILL NEED TO PUT THE NEG TEST WIRE ON ONE PLUS LEAD, AND THE POS TEST WIRE ON THE REMAINING LEAD. THEN WHEN YOU PUSH LOCK/UNLOCK THE METER SHOULD READ 12 OR MORE VOLTS, EITHER UNLOCK OR LOCK WILL DO THIS, . THEN REVERSE THE TEST LEADS ON THE PLUG AND PUSH LOCK AND UNLOCK AGAIN. THE OPPPOSITE BUTTON SHOULD ACTIVATE THE METER TO 12+ OR MORE VOLTAGE. IF THIS DOESNT HAPPEN, YOU HAVE A SHORT OR A BAD RELAY.

There's actually a Ford TSB on that problem. You may be able to find it online but the general fix is to replace all of the lock actuators which gets pretty expensive unfortunately

Do you know where the relay(s) is located? It does not show up in either power fuse/relay box under hood or by driver left knee. Bought a new relay at dealer but they could not tell me where it went. The service manual says there are 2 relays (open and close) but no one could tell me where they are located.

I have the same problem.  I bought a 2000 F250 5.4 and the locks dont work.  When I toggle the lock/unlock they barely move.  Just twitch.  but they do not lock or unlock.  Both sides.

Atleast I have a starting point.  What did the relay run for the lock/unlock.  I see from the schematic there are three relays, one for lock/unlock, one for lock, and one for unlock.

Since mine does not do either, I am going to purchase the main lock/unlock first.

This truck has so many little problems, heater doesnt work, A/C doesnt work, door locks.  I am going to post these in seperate threads.

Not many guys in here to help or give fast replys, unlike other forums I have been to for un-related items (motorcycle).  I guess cars arent as fun to talk about!
