walkin trails -> RE: Why put a small block v8 in the 2007 SHELBY MUSTANG GT500? (7/14/2006 9:02:09 PM)

Ford allegedly had a 7.0 modular in the works called the Hurricane. It was supposed to power the extended Expedition and was rumored to be slated for some performance offerings, too. Then Ford pulled the plug on production for whatever lame reason. Now, if they decided to offer a special edition Shelby with a fuel injected, aluminum Dove Engineering 427FE, that would be interesting and make the competition cringe. It would also be much farther out of my financial reach, but I'd like to see something like that. Incidently, the last thing I read said that the Shelby uses an iron block instead of alloy to cut down on the already high price tag.
