My Explorer will only start when I have the gas pressed and when I let the gas go it shuts off can someone help please?

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Check the vacuum lines for crack's and make sure the line's are connected. When it run's is the check engine light on?

no lights, just wont start unless I give it gas, and the only way it will stay running is if I keep giving it gas, I let go It dies ?????????

When you get it running how does it sound?? Any poping ?Or is it running rough?

Did you check the vacuum lines? Any loose wires?

I just had a mech. clean the throttle body, could that be involved, what could be some problems, please help!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I had the same problem a couple month ago on my 99 Explorer.

I had the IAC (idle air control) valve motor replaced. It was about $120.00 with labor.
