Close to three years ago, in AutoWeek Magazine, I stumbled upon pictures of Ford's Concept 427. For those that don't know, it was a retro-styled mid-full sized sedan , powered by a unique 427ci. V10 based off the Mustang Cobra-R's V8. Since then, I have heard nothing regarding the project. A few months back, in MotorTrend Magazine, there was a two page article about Ford and some of their near future plans. The Ford 427 was briefly mentioned, leaving no detail as to what direction the project may go. With the great success of the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger, I would think Ford would (if they could) want to involve themselves in the popular mid-full sized American muscle sedans. From what I can tell, with minor revision to the powerplant, the Ford 427 would make a great contendor to that of the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger. It would make a great addition as a step above the Ford Fusion. Has anyone else heard any news regarding the Ford 427?
