I PICKED UP MY BLACK 2005 FX4 SATURDAY THAT I ORDERED IN FEBRUARY, LOVE THE TRUCK BUT THE SEAT BELT CHIME IS DRIVING ME CRAZY. CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO UNHOOK THE CHIME.
I GOT UNDER THE SEAT AND UNPLUGGED WHAT I THOUGHT WAS THE CORRECT WIRE TO DISABLE THE CHIME, BUT THE AIR BAG LIGHT IN THE DASK STARTED FLASHING BUT THERE WAS NO SEAT BELT CHIME. BUT I PLUGGED IT BACK IN AFRAID I HAD DISABLED THE AIR BAG ALSO.
PLEASE HELP.

well, you could find out where the chime is, and cut the wires to it...

you could look at the fuse chart for the fuse that makes it, or the chime, work, and pull it..

you could find an old seat belt buckle, and snap it in, then pin it back, or push it down between the seats, so youre not sitting on it...

if you pull the fuse, should you find out which one handles the chime/seatbelt system, BE CAREFUL that tghe fuse is not piggybacked with some other system like the airbag system, so on...

if you really got into this, you could take the female end of the buckle, and find the sensor, which is likely simply an electric connection which the buckle completes, or a little button that the buckle pushes in, and either push the button down and glue it, or take a small piece of metal and complete the circuit.
