i'm working on my 01 3.8 does anyone know where the fuel pump relay is located? my car has been giving me starting problems off and on and now has pretty much givin up. the pump is no longer working and thought i would give the relay a look before taking it in for a pump replacement. i assume that should cost me about $600 or more? thanks

The 01 3.8 uses a constant control relay module 'CCRM'

PCM relay power, as well as the control of the cooling fan, A/C clutch are done through the CCRM, which also contains the fuel pump driver module 'FPDM' power supply relay, which supplies power to the FPDM. If any of the internal components of the CCRM fail, the entire unit has to be replaced.

The fuel pump driver module receives a duty cycle signal from the PCM and controls the fuel pumps operation in relation to this duty cycle. This result is a variable speed fuel pump operation.

If you have a 'no start' condition due to a fuel delivery issue, power to the pump should be checked to diagnose a bad pump, or no pump imput from the CCRM/FPDM..

Check and see if you have a fuel shut off switch in the trunk of your car. It should tell you in your owners manual. you can see if you have power there when you turn your key on. it only powers it up for 4 to 5 seconds.

well i have just checked the inertial switch in the trunk and when the ignition is turned to "on"it has power there but it also stays on constantly. this thing has so many bells going when you have it in the on position it's hard to hear if the pump has ran or not.
