I need to put an after market deck into a 1996 aerostar. How do I take the panel off so that I can get busy under there?

Go to you're local car audio store and they should be able to help you...if they are worth their salt that is...

Without really seeing the vehicle, going off how my ranger is. There should be an edge piece on the dash that goes around the panel from the stereo over to theleft side of the steering wheel. There should be a place where there is the ashtray. Pull that out and there should be 2 screws. Take them out. Then pull on the edging peice gently and should pull off. I say gently just in case on the aerostar there are more screws. I hope this close to your configuration and helps you get into the right direction.,

Sounds about right...come to think of it, when I had my old aerostar, there were the screws for the ashtray and some on the bottom of the plastic by your shins if you were to sit in the drivers seat...beyond that i'm pretty sure they were just snaps...
