I recently bought a 2003 Ford Escape V6 XLT with 16,000 miles on it. Runs great most of the time, however, recently it has stall issues. What normally happens is when I'm driving, the theft light will come on for approx. 3 seconds, I lose power (doesn't stall, just drops RPM), and then comes back to normal. It will do this maybe once or twice a day over the course of my 100 mile round trip commute. Occasionally (only 4 times so far) it will do the same, but completely stall out. Always starts back up, ususally by dropping to neutral in the stall and turning it over. The one consistency is that the theft light on the factory alarm always comes on first. Anyone heard of this before, or can shed some light on my problem? thanks.
