Can someone tell me where the Idle air control valve is? 1995 Ranger 4L 4x4 manual trans, manual locking hubs. Would this make a "wooooing" sound if it was going bad. Thanks Tim

Here's a pic of the IAC's location..

It's on the 'forward' portion of the plenium, bolted to the throttle body..

The whoo or moaning isn't all that uncommon.. Go to this link and follow the IAC unpluging..

If this is what you hear..

To fix the problem, pull off the black 'vent' cover, pull out the pieces inside. You should find two felt filters inside. Carefully clean the filters so the air can move thru them easier. Assemble/snap the black cover back on the IAC. The noise occurs when the vent is restricted..
