My escort was in milwaukee otherwise known as the ghetto of wisconsin and someone broke in and messed up the lock of the passenger side so basicly now its hanging out. I dont know how to fix this without having to pay a big bill at the body shop how would i go about this? without messing up the paint

Can you post a pic of the damage area?

Paint will likely get messed up, but they make a door lock reshaping tool that will re contour the door lock hole with minimal damage.  If you remove your door panel and take to body shop they likely have this tool and will repair for $20 cash if you ask politely.  With door panel off it could probably be done in less than 5 minutes.
