I'm working on a 63 fairlane that came with a early 289 engine. The guy that we bought it from said it had a bad vibration in the engine. We were going to try and start the car but found that the freeze plugs were pushed out of the block. Instead we pulled the motor out of the car and tore it down and off to the machine shop it went. The guy that we bought it from thinks that it had the wrong Flywheel on it. Any help in the matter would be great. The Flywheel that came off it had 160 teeth and the part number of C2OE 6380 E It would be great if I could get the problem figured out as we want to put a T-10 4 speed behing the motor. The motor is out of a 64 any help would be great Thanks Marvin.

Check the harmonic balancer also was it a stick or automatic
If automatic torque converter may be bad if stick i would look at the pressure plate flywheel and clutch disk.
Also check the motor mounts and tranny mount.

Number of teeth depends on the tranny. 157 teeth for older C4's. Older Fords should have a 28.2oz imbalance weight on the flywheel. Newer (82 up) have a 50 oz imbalance. Get it wrong and it will shake.
