I have a 1997 expedition 4x4, the 4x4 switch has 2wh. awd, 4wh, 4wl. when ever i engage the four wheel drive the awd light comes on. it doesnt matter if it is in four wheel low or all wheel drive. if i am in four wheel low will the 4 wheel low light be on or will the all wheel drive light be on? any info on this would be great!
thanks

I have no idea how replacing the transfer case would effect thius, but on my '97, my dash has a light to represent each 4WD setting; If I am in standard RWD then there is no light, if I switch the knob to AWD then the AWD light comes on, if I go to 4WD-H or 4WD-L there is a corresponding light that reads 4WD High or 4WD Low accordingly. The lights are in the lower right side of the console, and run in sequence from left to right in the order listed above. They are all amber colored.

Hope this helps.

Eric

Thanks for the response, it lets me know i still have problems!! the only light that comes on is the 4AWD light. do you know if those sensors in the transfer case above the shifter motor could be bad causing it not to go into low or high gear.
