Hayapower, should I jump across each coil to the resistor independently?  Should I be doing the jumping with the engine off?  Today when I was doing the test, I had the engine running with the selector set on a/c and the blower set on low.  BASSHAWK

Just jump the thermal limiter, the 'diode' looking connection/circuit across the coils.. Key needs to be on, and then just rotate the fan selector to verify 'all' the fan positions work.. Remove the jumper connection and the HI fan should only be working once again...

Hayapower, you nailed this issue on the nose.  I bought a new resistor from the
Ford house this afternoon and the issue was resolved as soon as I installed it in the Expy.  Thank you so much for you assistance.  BASSHAWK

I have the same problem with an '03 and I think what I took out was the resistor pack
however it looks more like a coated PCB with some copper runs on it but it looks like
it is stuck into the airflow. It's just behind the glove box. I have only fan speed 3+4
on my Expy xlt. Can someone tell me if this is the right part ? I assume they are
prone to fail same as the one shown above.
