Turn signal switch

kerwinq -> Turn signal switch (2/24/2007 2:03:03 PM)

Has anyone ever replaced the turn signal swith in a 98 F150?  I need to replace mine but not sure if I want to have it done or try and do it myself.  What is involved in replacing the switch?  Does the steering wheel need to come off or can it be accessed from the side of the column?

Thanks,  Kerwin

Pretty easy job to replace the multi function switch....

I can send you the shop manual info/pics if needed to do the job or post them here.. About the only special tool you'll need is a torx screw driver to remove the mutifunction switch from the column..

Posting would be a good idea, from what I have read and hear this is something that tends to go out and needs to be replaced.  If here it would be available for others if needed

Will this process apply to a '97 Explorer as well ?

The procedure is just about the same as the truck.  Just check the wires in the connector, make sure they haven't backed out of it.
