I've installed a Dynomax kit on an older Ranger edge like 99 4.0 and it sounded pretty good. oh yeah it was cheaper than factory replacement

Did you get an exhaust system yet? Just put on a Magnaflo exhaust on my 5.4 Lariat and it's awseome. Not super loud but it has that Mustang GT sound, HEALTHY. Somewhat expensive but well worth it.

You can get good Dynomax exhaust from www.autopartsway.com. They have tons of Ford parts at good prices.

I always put on 18" glass packs and 28" tips, Gives it a deep resonating sound and good on power too. And of course it''s a whole lot cheaper than a ready built system. of course i have a 5.4 though
