a freind of mine is trying to put an ignition switch and tumbler from a 78 stang into a 67. im not sure why and i dont know a lot about mustangs. so i was wondering if anyone knows what wires are what on each swich and if they'll work.

They're not alike. Anyhow aren't '67's on the dash and 78's on the column? Maybe I'm wrong?

im not even sure lol. i havent even seen the car. he just asked me if i could find out. i dont understand why he doesnt want to use the origanal one.

Maybe he can't reach the dash? I'd say it sounds like he's trying to add a steering lock to the steering column (which the newer ones had). But why don't he just hook up an accessory steering lock or accessory ignition cut-out switch.
