Just bought a 2004 V10 Excursion.  I have had it for 4 days.  I drove 200 miles back from dealership with no noise.  Now on day 4 I am hearing a squeaking noise when I turn right and /or left and a thud thud thud noise when I am braking.   Can anyone give me some ideas as to what this could be?  I find it odd I did not hear these things 4 days ago when I test drove the car.  HELP!

On my '01 the sway bar bushings are bad. They make a thud noise when the truck sways from one side to another, like when you are pulling into your driveway or something. They also make the same noise sometimes when applying the brakes firmly. It's more of a nuisance than anything. It's not going to make your vehicle unsafe. Hope this helps.

Id look into the sway bar bushings as mentioned in addition i would check the thing over carefully,,,there was a guy in the explorer area that had problems with his front end making brake noise and such it ended up being the shop he had it at didnt even tighten the lug nuts after they did a ball joint job,,,Dude is lucky that wheel didnt come off at highway speeds..point is repair shops, car sales places ,they all in my opinion do so-so work and make some of thee most bone head mistakes Ive ever heard about. if you just got the car or you just had it worked on by another party its really in your best interest to check it over good. Also I was thinking in some of the front wheel drive cars i have had in the past the front struts and springs had a rubber bushing that would go bad and it would allow the strut spring to just thud around in there and made squeaking noises. Not sure if you may have anything close to that kinda of set up in the front but I just thought it may be realivent.
