I am hoping someone can help me here with a transmission and tail housing issue, I have a 3 speed transmission in my 78
f150 the engine is a 302) but it was taken from a 1985 Ford Econoline, the transmission is an Tremec Rat (first three letters on tag are RAT) , My problem
is that everything is together but in order to put the tail housing on I need a rear bearing retainer, from what I am told
Ford used an aluminium bell housing for this transmission starting in 1982 and implemented a separate bearing retainer,

If someone could give me some info on this transmission, where I might be able to get a replacement retainer, or let me know
of another housing I could use in place of this one it would be appreciated,

Also, I have been searching for this info on the internet and e mailing people for about 2 weeks and I cannot come up with
anything other then the dates they have been used and that they were used in the Econoline van.

hope someone can help
