Ain't gonna happen without pulling the engine as there's barely enough room to run plug wires with your paws in there, let alone trying to get tools in there in an upright position.  The engine technically comes out from under the body after dropping the front under carriage.  However, it is possible to get it pulled out thru the front if you're not the impatient type (Been there! Done that!). And, if you're going to go that far and the van is solid with a good drive train, I would go thru the whole engine while it's out.
