CHECK GAUGE light is on at dashboard and coolant gauge reads too high with no apparant heat issue. What gives? Any suggestions Ford Brainiacs? Can I repair myself? This is on a 2000 Explorer XLS with v6 automatic.
Thanks in advance!

SOUNDS LIKE A SENDER UNIT PROBLEM, TRY UNPLUGGING SENDER TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS TO THE GAUGE. DID THE NEEDLE FALL? TRY SHORTING THE CONNECTOR PINS TOGETHER, NOW DOES IT FALL? IF YOU NEED HELP ON WHERE TO FIND THE SENDER, JUST REPLY.
