I'm trying to get a 93 ford escort started after its been sitting for like 9yrs. I've drained the gas, pumped some new gas through the system, changed the oil, and squirted a bit of atf in each cyl, but it wouldn't start. I've got fuel pressure, but the injectors aren't firing. So i bought 1 new injector from AZ, and hooked it up - still nothing. (at this point i have the fuel rail just sitting on top of the intake, hooked up to the fuel lines to see if it will fire) It looks like i'm not getting an injector signal from the ecu, but idk why? Is there any way to test this? I've got 12v at each injector, so all the ecu should have to do is ground them. One thing that i noticed is that there is a light on the dash that says "FUEL CUTOUT" when the key is in the start position, but not in the run position. I checked the inertia fuel cutoff switch, and it is fine. I also jumpered it to "trip" the fuel cutoff and when i do this it lights up on the dash FUEL CUTOUT, even in the run position. So in-short, is there any good way to test for an injector signal? Is it normal for the dash to say "fuel cutout" when the key is in the start position? Thanks for any help -matt
