2003 Explorer XLT 4.0 v6 all windows and radio stopped ... - 7/7/2007 10:29:08 PM    jenior71   Posts: 14 Score: 0 Joined: 7/7/2007 Status: offline Need help PLZ..my wifes 2003 explorer all of a sudden, all 4 windows stopped working. Then a few hours later the radio wouldnt turn on..The clock on the radio works but thats all..I checked all fuses, relays and circuit breakers and all checked ok..is there a module or something that went out..??? There is a defrost relay next to it so I swaped the two..The defrost works but still no windows.?? The relay is ok..all fuses are ok also.. (in reply to jenior71) Post #: 3

Use a jumper wire and bridge the 30 and 87 relay connections taking the instrument cluster out of the operational loop.. The cluster controls the ground leg of the relay coil opening/closing the delay relay contacts.. Aslo check for 12v at the jumper when connrected.. This will put 12V straight into the master window switch.. Windows come on line? We had that replaced once before under factory warranty because the gas guage wasnt working at around 32K miles..It now has 51K miles..what do you think??? (in reply to jenior71) Post #: 6

We had the cluster replaced under factory warranty once then it went out a second time and replaced under parts warranty..whats up with this part?? (in reply to jenior71) Post #: 7

Clusters are vehicle configured on replacement..... Not a real high failure rate, but certainly Ford should get behind you on this last repair since it's been replaced a few times already.. When was the last unit installed? I'd take all your docs and get the Service Manager/Parts Manager involved and see we they can do or offer you..
