My 1990 ford thunderbird v6 is not starting cosistantly. I had the battery checked and it checked good at 13.5. So i took it home and removed the hot cable to the battery. It continued to run. Doea this tell me the alternator is good? What could be drawing on the battery while it sits , not running?? Or did i get a bogus battery test?? the dude seemed clueless. what should i do next??

Was the test done with a multimeter or a real battery tester. My old battery showed good voltage, but when the tester was put on it showed low amps, meaning the battery was toast. Yep, sounds like a good alternator to me. Do you have any aftermarket electronics set up on the battery side of the system, (as opposed to auxilary when it gets power when the key is turned)
