yesterday we had 30mile winds and my car would not go more than 45

i found out that it is a 1.6 carb moter and automatic tranny

if any one knows where the power went and how to get it back please tell me

its hard to say i know ur car was not slowed down by just the wind, its hard to say cuz all the info u gave us isnt enough, does it make wierd noises? or anything??

it makes a slight pinging sound when you are making it excelarate and when trying to go up hills on the highway, it is hard to keep the spead limit on the hills it will drop from 65 to about 50

sounds like a really tired engine to me, 20 years old now and a 4 banger at that. you need to check the compression in the cylinders to see if the rings or valves are worn out before you do anything else and waste any money on parts. the readings should be at least 80 psi and all of them should be within 10% of each other.

i think you can get a compression tester at autozone for like $20
