I have a 2002 v6 ford escape. Yesterday i was leaving work to go and get lunch. When i got into my vehicle and started it, i pressed the brake and realized my escape was stuck in park. I can shift freely, and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to fix it. i will answer any questions.

That's happens to me quite a bit.  While still idling and in 'park', take your foot back off the brake and turn your steering wheel left then right or vice versa.  Then you can put your foot back on the brake and take it out of park.  My father-in-law had this happen when he tried to move my car one time, and ended up getting frustrated and taking my husband's car on his errand instead (darn the luck).  That's when I realized that it wasn't just me, and there was a method to the madness.
Let me know if this works for you.
