Hi Guys:

My Air condition can blow hot or cold air, but when I turn fan speed to the MAX, it works for 10 min, then I can feel air pressure lower than before, blower motor has loud sound, I guess it still works, so any one has same problem before ? THX for your input!

yep. I have this problem too. I have a 99. I guess it's a common problem..actually I was gonna top my compressor off this weekend, but maybe that's not the issue

Check the low pressure switch.  There is a possibility the evaporator is freezing up and blocking the flow of air and therefore causing a loss of cool air.

So it stays blowing out lower amounts of air after it starts to fail?  The only other possicilities are the fan motor itself, or a door that is dropping partially closed and not allowing the air to flow freely. It does not go back to regular air flow after a period of time? If you turn it off, does it work properly for the 10 minutes again?

yes

It does not go back to regular air flow after a period of time?

No, keep same way

If you turn it off, does it work properly for the 10 minutes again?

yes, If I shut it off  for say 1hr, it will work again another 10 min

Does Blower have problem ? When I SW over to the heat, I just tested couple min, becaue it is summer now, so not sure the heat may work

Thank you for the big help ! Have nice weekend.

If the air stays cool when the air level drops, there is a door inside the a/c plenum that is probably not functioning properly.  If the air warms up, you need the a/c system serviced.  Remove the blower motor and see if you can see if there is something that is causing the door to bind.

Just an idea - maybe the vacuum actuator for the vent door could also be affected by the cold. Either way it sounds like something is freezing and contracting to cause the problem (obviously). As far as topping off the compressor - what??? The refrigerant shouldn't be added to without checking the pressure first - then you need to make space by removing some or all of the charge before you add anything.

Thank you for the help, I tested with only Vent on for 300 KM this time, no such problem, so I guess you are right, may be some thing was frozen.I will check the blower the early Sept., then let you know the result, Thanks again, have nice day!
