I have a 1991 ford f-150 5.8l And i put a ten inch infinity powered sub woofer in it. I powered it with 4 ga. wire. and my first one 75 amp alternator went to hell.. So i put a 80 amp alternator it had good charging for a week and now it is not that great. what could the promlem be to cause it to draw that much power. And weaken the alternator.
