Hello..First time here.... I just started having this problem about 2 weeks ago..When I start the car cold and drive it the trans is fine...My problem is and it seems worse with alot of stop and go driving the transmission when I come to a stop and then take off..its like it starts out in second gear?? automatic w/OD trans. If i try and put it in first manually the car almost is like the brakes are on kinda slips but I didn't want and rev it any more to find out...when car sits for a while everything is back to normal. Shifts fine 1st threw OD....Anyone hear of this before?? I do have a ton of miles but its just weird it started out of no where...Maybe try a trans flush and new fluid and filter?? any help would be great!! Thanks Dav

I HAVE A 95 T-BIRD THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM EXACTLY. ALL I DID WAS CHANGE THE THE TRANS FLUID AND FILTER. ALSO DRAINED THE TORQUE CONVERTER. IT TOOK 12 QTS OF ATF TO REFILL THE TRANS. BE SURE AND DRAIN IT WHILE THE FLUID IS STILL WARM. THIS GET ALL THE BAD STUFF SUSPENDED IN THE FLUID. GOOD LUCK. SO FAR THE PROBLEM HAS NOT RETURNED, IT HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS NOW.
