My old car gave up on me and I'm thinking about buying an 02 manual focus. Has anyone had any major problems with thier car? Is there anything I should know before I buy it?

NO!!! I own a 2005 Focus and have had engine problems with it within the first month I owned it.  The car runs poorly and the A/C has gone out on at least 15 occasions in the YEAR I've owned it and Ford has YET to fix the problem even though it's still under factory warranty.  I have driven a rental vehicle more than my own in the last two months and my local dealership has told me they cannot fix the problem.  Ford's solution is to take the car 60 miles away on my dime.  They have been extremely poor at customer service.  I wouldn't recommend a Ford, especially the Focus, to anyone.
We have driven the Fusion on several occasions and like it alright.  But I'd be careful ever buying a Ford.  If something goes wrong on it, they will do everything in their power to cover their butt and not fix the issue.

With you owning such a new model, I'm pretty sure I won't buy a focus now. I have heard the same from a few other ford owners. Thanks

I would never recommend a Focus to anyone.

I own a 2002 ford focus SE and it has almost 80k miles on it and it has never given me a minute's worth of problems. It runs today as good as the day I bought it for my wife. Only think I don't like about it is I feel like I am driving a go cart because I am more used to my F-150 King Cab.
