TheWeb -> A/c Component removal HELP! (10/12/2007 5:56:27 PM)

I drive an 89' 5.0 and I wanted to get rid of as much weight as I could can someone briefly describe to me how to re-route the belt, once the A/c component is removed. Thanks for the help.

You would have to get a smaller belt to start. otherwise I think it would take the same route, there jst wouldnt be a ac pulley to go around.

Or if you want to continue to run the same routing, you can get an A/C eliminator pulley.  ASP makes an aluminum A/C eliminator pulley that needs a 1/2 inch shorter belt and it can be bought from summitracing.com for $70.  Part # ASP-028200.  They also have a smog pump replacement pulley for about $68.  Ford Racing also makes both of these parts.  The FRPP a/c kit actually moves the power steering pump up in place of the A/C and costs $40 but their smog eliminator is $82.
