2002 Windstar with 65K miles. Trans works great. No slip, shifts smooth, fluid is clean with no burnt odor. Short hops around town, everything is fine. No leaks and fluid level stays at full. The problem arises after sustained highway driving. It will leave a trail of fluid coming up the driveway and the tailgate will be covered with a fine mist of trans fluid. I've been underneath and wiped everything dry and checked all bolts. Everything is tight. It will stay clean and dry for weeks until it's driven at highway speeds for a sustained time. (20 miles or more) Has anyone else had this problem? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

sounds like you have an internal problem with the trans and its venting fluid.....take it to a trans shop for futher diagnosis....preferably aamco or someplace like that......
