Can anyone help to ID a centrifugal non-vacuum advance distributor with FoMoCo P/N C0AF-12127-K and the alpha-numerics stamped below it of "1FA".

It's a 1960 Full Size Ford. Fourth letter - could it be "E" (designation for an engine part) instead of "F"? 12127 would be the basic part number for a distributor (classified in the series 10300 to 12999 and including various parts). "K" indicates how many times the part was changed from the original design (original -"A"). 1FA would likely be the date code (to indicate when it was used?) All distributors (of course) had centrifugal advance weights - if you have the thin slit in the front with the two mounting holes it likely uses an advance which is missing. There were those odd performance and some standard parts that would not have used them but they're often not seen. I'd love to see a couple pictures if you have the time.

I have been working with Ford smallblock engines since mid 64 and haven't taken the time to come to terms with the early FE stuff. Am very familiar with the FoMoCo part numbering system but this one has me thinking of some HiPo stuff that Ford experimented with early on in the FE life. It has no vacuum slot and as you can see by the photos the p/n is clear. See my website www.griffithyears.com - I was the Griffith factory test driver and worked with and for Mark Donohue. Worked with Ford in many arenas. I checked into all of my resource books and couldn't find anything as early as this one.

 Yes - that's a part that you don't "just have lying around" in the average garage. And being an early part is likely very hard to find. Would likely sell for more cash to a vintage racer or club than on Ebay though - but you never know.

I am continually opening my "vault" in the shop and emptying lots of early HiPo stuff so I don't have to worry about the estate executor trashing it all when I git goin' to the big speed shop in the sky.
Just sold an original C5 smallblock dual-point dist. that I've owned since '64.

The distributor is now listed on eBay along with a couple of other vintage Ford goodies..

Most likely for a 1961 406, or HP 390.  Ford only used mechanical advance (no vacuum advance at all) distributors in their hi-performance engines such as the HP 352. HP390, 406, 427 and 289 HP.  Please note that all of these engines had mechanical (solid) lifters.

It's for a 60 390 High performance engine. (Just looked it up in my archives).
