Instrument cluster nightmare!!! - 11/1/2007 1:02:53 PM    jteam31   Posts: 7 Score: 0 Joined: 11/1/2007 Status: offline I just rebuilt a 2003 F250 with a 6.0 diesel. The truck was hit down the left side. I took the box off and put a side on the box and new doors and fender down the left side. I did do some welding on the frame and the cab corner of the truck. I unhooked both battery terminals when I did my welding but did not put and isolator on it to protect from back feeding back through the system. I now don't have any power to my windows or my radio. Also no lights on half my instrument panel. I bought a new instrument cluster and plugged it in and it worked for a minute and then went out again. I am ready to set this thing on fire any help would be greatly appreciated, I know I have read that other people on the forum have had trouble with this before. Thanks!!!! I tried all the fuses!!! One way to isolate is unplug everything, then slowly start plugging in components. I would start with the ECU as that is the brain. RE: Instrument cluster nightmare!!! - 11/1/2007 1:32:16 PM    jteam31   Posts: 7 Score: 0 Joined: 11/1/2007 Status: offline My problems didn't start until I started welding, I had all power to everything before I started welding, I made sure that everything work when I first bought the truck, could this be a ground issue and where should I start to check, I am a body guy not a mechanic so I am just pulling stuff out of the air to try. I don't have an owners manual for the truck and am trying to figure out what the relays are for on the fire wall by the drivers side wheel well. I will check into that. I am just at my wits end, and I can't get passed that it doesnt have something to do with the time delay relay, cause everything that is not working is what works when you shut the key off without opening the door. I will keep checking. Also I cant find on the back of the cover where it says anything about what relay runs what. Thanks for any help. (in reply to david paul) Post #: 7
