whats up im having a problem of my car not goin into gear when the car is on  but with it off it shifts  fine ,  is this a tranny problem?  i just got a new clutch and plates like 4 months ago ,   if i jam it into gear the car feels like it pulls itself  plus the clutch pedel is like rock hard

If it is really hard to push the clutch pedel then I suspect the pressure plate is bad, although it is possible that if it a cable operated system that it is bad too. Most likely not a trans problem thou.

Sounds like a clutch adjustment problem. Yours is probably cable. Make sure nothing is binding the cable. I don't know your expertise but you can adjust this yourself.

What kind of clutch did you put in?  If it is a high performance clutch you have probably stripped the teeth off the plastic quadrants under the dash.  The plastic teeth wont hold up to the higher forces required to dis-engage a stronger pressure plate.  Check your self adjusting quadrants under the dash.  They are kind of off white in color and atatched to your clutch pedal.  If they are bad, you need to get a replacement adjustable aluminum unit.  If that is not the culprit, you should look at the cable for stretch or your throw out bearing.
