I recntly purchase a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. I need help in locating the computer box that is the size of a cigarette box. I am looking for the keypad code number. I looked in the places that I read in previous post with no luck. Can someone help me Please?

I wrote this today 5/1/04, just to let everyone know that I found the module on my Sport trac behind the front passenger airbag module.
Top left Tan in color mod. Remove code is on top. FYI

Hi Chino,
Just joined this forum and saw your post.

We just purchased a 2003 Sport Trac and had the same trouble. I took it to a Ford dealer and they hooked it to a computer to get the code. Depending on the dealer it will cost from 20 to 80 dollars. It is in the security computer which is deep inside the dash. The dealer will plug into the main computer right under the steeling wheel at least that is what they did for me and got the code that way.

Hope this helps.
Marie
