I just got a 1979 Ford F150 Ranger lwb 460. And im wondering what i can do to make it faster quicker and more powerful over all! And not spend a fortune! Im new here thanks a lot!

there is a lot that you can do. cam swap- call comp cams, tell them your specs and your requirments and they will figure out a cam that will be the best.
Carb swap- do you have a two barrel carb? if so, a four barrel would really create power. also there are probably bigger carbs avalable, but these will suck a lot of gas. outside the engine, you could regear the diffs- lower gearing will make the truck accelerate faster. http://www.onandoffroad4wheeldrive.com/gear_ratio_guide.htm

Welcome to the site F460TX.What are your plans for this truck. Are you going to tow, cruise around town, maybe lots of highway driving? How many miles on the motor?
